Lansdowne Follies III Set for Sunday April 15, 2012 at the Mayfair

Plans are underway for a third "Follies". Enjoy the music of Ian Tamblyn, Amanda Rheaume, and the Just Voices community choir while supporting transparency and accountability from our local government. All proceeds will be used to support the Friends of Lansdowne legal challenge.

Lansdowne Soil Remediation Meeting

Wednesday, March 21, 7 to 9 p.m.

St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 174 First Avenue

The City of Ottawa is organizing a public information meeting on soil remediation at Lansdowne Park, and on the risk management measures associated with the contaminated soils.

Presentations are from 7 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a question and answer session from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

But that’s what Havana Night did: it sizzled, transforming the residents, neighbours, friends and family of this small, all but frozen, Canadian community into one-night tourists at Ottawa’s newest tropical hot spot—the "Old Firehall" in Old Ottawa South (Ottawa South Community Centre).

SAW City Debates opens with Ottawa premiere of Urbanized

Galerie SAW Gallery will launch its new speaker series, SAW City Debates, with the Ottawa premiere of the feature-length documentary Urbanized by New York City- and London-based filmmaker Gary Hustwit (director of Helvetica and Objectified), which will be followed by a no-holds-barred debate with invited speakers Andrew Cohen from the Ottawa Citizen, Deborah Margo from the University of Ottawa and Barrie McKenna from The Globe and Mail. They will discuss their ideas for the future of Ottawa's cityscape.

Note that Lansdowne Park redevelopment will be a subject of discussion with the invited speakers.
